Quick mini oil painting for art class!
"Loose flowers" -- it's funny how some of the quickest pieces can be my favorites! This was completed in just over an hour; oil on canvas sheet.
"Linda's roses" - birthday roses for my dear friend
"Hydrangeas" -- tabletop floral created in art class for Mother's Day. Missing my sweet mom in Heaven!
"Honeysuckle dreams" - a whimsical piece combining three favorite things: 1) honeysuckles 2) sunrise 3) mountain!
"Marsh" - I used AI to create the image of this marsh, then painted it with a heavy hand (lots of oil paint!)
"Carnival" was done with oil and cold wax using stencils, strings and various tools for scraping. A fun and new medium for me! I took a 3-day workshop in Asheville to learn this new technique.
"Cold Mountain" -- there's an actual Cold Mountain in North Carolina but this was named for the cold wax medium used. It's on a wood panel to support the heavier concentration of wax.
"Cosmos" and "Happy Blues" -- these two wood panels weren't designed to be paired together but it worked out....and I needed something on the walls in a remodeled guest bath. They were done in oil and cold wax.
"River Arts" -- This oil and cold wax piece on wood was created at the workshop I attended in the River Arts district of Asheville. The colors in the river were revealed after scraping the wax away with a palette knife.
